Anti Denim es una marca de ropa noruega así como guay, con una estética inspirada en el black metal pero derivada a lo artsy, como buenos modernos que son. Hace unos meses me ofrecieron participar en su proyecto 666 Frames: ellos te presentaban un video dividido en 666 frames, y tu debías escoger uno y modificarlo a conciencia. Yo elegí el número 323 e hice una representación libre de Hécate, señora muy respetada en esta casa por lo que pudiera pasar.

En teoría, una vez finalizado el proyecto se realizará una exposición y se editará un libro; parece que la cosa va a tomarse su tiempo, pero seguiremos informando. Mientras tanto echadle un ojo a la web del proyecto, que hay cosas bien majas por ahí. ¡Pronto más!

Anti Denim is a nice norwegian clothing brand, with a style inspired by the black metal universe with an artsy touch (they are Fashionland inhabitants after all). Some months ago I was offered to collaborate on their 666 Frames project: it consists on a video divided on 666 frames, each one to be chosen and customized by an artist. I chosed number 323 and made a free representation of Hecate, a lady who deserves proper respect (just in case).

Once the project is finished there will be an exhibition and a book containing all the images; it seems that it will take a while, but I'll tell you if there are any news. Meanwhile take a look on the project's web, there's a lot of cool stuff. More to come soon!

Segunda entrega de Iconos, la serie en la que colaboro con John Tones para su blog Inferno: en esta ocasión le toca a Herbert West, protagonista del clásico gorefestivo de Stuart Gordon Re-Animator. Con la aparición estelar del insigne Dr. Hill, que protagoniza algunas de las escenas más chocantes de la película (entre ellas ESA en la que estáis pensando). Lovecraft estaría orgulloso. Bueno, igual no.

Second illustration for Iconos, the series on Inferno written by John Tones and illustrated by myself. Our guest this time is Herbert West, from Stuart Gordon's classic Re-Animator. Also starring Dr. Hill, responsible for some of the most shocking scenes on the movie (including THAT ONE you are thinking of). Lovecraft would be proud. Well, maybe not.

Cartel para la fiesta de presentación de Memento Mori, colección de la Editorial Alegoría dedicada a la literatura de género, o como ellos dicen "libros para consumir en movimiento donde siempre muere mucha gente". Asi que si estáis en Madrid y os apetece pasar un juernes de literatura pulp, rock sudoroso y gente de baja catadura moral os animo a pasaros por el Wurli, un lugar en el que, como las guerras, se sabe cuándo se entra pero no cuándo (ni cómo) se sale.

Poster design for Memento Mori's presentation party. Memento Mori is a cool book collection of Editorial Alegoría dedicated to pulp novels, or, as they say, "books where a lot of people die". So if you are in Madrid and you are in the mood for some badass literature, dirty rock n' roll and people of low moral standards then come to the Wurli, a place where leaving is never as easy as entering.

Con esta dulce señorita comienza la serie Iconos en Inferno, el blog de cine fantástico y de terror del ínclito John Tones. Iconos va a ser una colección de pequeños articulos, escritos bellamente por Tones e ilustrados (como buenamente pueda) por un servidor, en los que iremos homenajeando a nuestros más queridos personajes del cine de terror. Y para empezar, nadie mejor que Carrie, la reina del baile de graduación querida por todos. ¡Que los disfrutéis!

Soy muy fan del cine de Ti West. Me encanta su forma de entender el género de terror, su estilo como director y el maldito ojo que tiene para escoger actrices. A la espera de un homenaje en condiciones de The House of the Devil y/o The Innkeepers, aqui va un pequeño díptico basado en Second Honeymoon, su corto incluído en V/H/S, para mi gusto lo mejor de la antología.

En otro orden de cosas, mi dibujo para Tattoo the Girl fue felizmente seleccionado (¡hurra!) y forma ahora parte de la exposición del proyecto, que podeis ver en Mutuo Centro de Arte hasta el 3 de diciembre. Los que vivais en Barcelona y alrededores no dudeis en pasaros por allí y echar una tarde cultural, que una vez al año no hace daño. No todo va a ser jugar a la Xbox, digo yo.

I'm a big fan of Ti West's films. I love his understanding of the horror genre, his directing style and his damn good eye for picking actresses. While waiting for a decent tribute to The House of the Devil and/or The Innkeepers, here's a little diptych based on Second Honeymoon, his short story included in V/H/S, best one of the anthology if you ask me.

And now for something completely different: my illustration for the Tattoo the Girl project has been selected (yay!) and is now part of the exhibition at Mutuo Centro de Arte until December 3rd. If you are in Barcelona, go and have a cultural afternoon for once. Come on, it's healthy and you've played enough videogames for today. You know it.

ThreeFiveFifty es una publicación de esas cucas en las que gusta colaborar por simple amor al arte y lo bonico. Es un poster de pegatinas diseñadas por diferentes artistas; esta es mi pequeña aportación para el número 5, que haría allá por mayo. ThreeFiveFifty is one of those cute publications you like to collaborate on, just for the sake of art and coolness. It's a collection of stickers, designed by various artists, presented as a poster. This is my contribution for number #5, back in may. Some evil gnomes stopped me showing it until now that I'm already working on next issue's sticker. My apologies. Don't judge me.

Os dejo algunas de las últimas ilustraciones que hice (para los finales del juego segun se gane o se pierda) y como bonus track un boceto de los terribles calamares chiquiticos. Ahora lo unico que nos queda es averiguar es cómo conseguir dinero y fama gracias a esto. Cuestión de tiempo.

Here are some of the last illustrations I made (for the game endings), and as a bonus track a little evil squid sketch. Now we have to figure out how to use this to get rich and famous. It's just a matter of time.

El otro día vimos Drive Angry en plan post-fiesta y no podía creerme lo que estaba viendo. Nicolas Cage volviendo de la tumba para VENGARSE, descendiendo (de nuevo) a las más profundas simas del cine tróspido. Terrible. Nos encantó.

Nunca pensé que dibujaría a este onvre por propia voluntad, pero tenía que sacarmelo de alguna manera.

A few days ago we watched Drive Angry after a party, and I couldn't believe my eyes. Nicolas Cage  back from the grave to get his REVENGE, plunging (again) into the deepest hole of cheesy badass cinema. Awful. We loved it.

Never thought I'd ever draw this guy of my own free will, but I had to let it out.

A veces, cuando un libro me gusta y estoy de humor, hago un dibujico chico para usar de marcapáginas. Este es el que hice en papel vegetal para la novelización de La Profecía, de David Seltzer, sobre la estupenda portada del libro. No es una cosa particularmente relacionada con la historia, pero puesto sobre el pequeño Damien tiene gracia. Y a todos nos encanta una cabra infernal de vez en cuando.

Sometimes while reading a nice book, if I'm in the mood, I make a little drawing to use as a bookmark. Here's the one I made on a piece of tracing paper for David Seltzer's novelization of The Omen, over the book's awesome cover. Not particularly related to the book/movie, but placed over little Damien looks cool. And we all love an evil goat every now and then.
